Combat the growing rates of post natal depression by learning about how birth really works – not just your body, but also the role of your hormones and your instincts. In this workshop you will learn about the anatomy of birth, the optimal birthing environment, minimising fear and anxiety and basic relaxation and coping techniques.
Your support partner will get an insight into the very important role they play. This workshop should be on the “must” list for all birthing couples.
When you go through something momentous you want someone you love by your side – giving birth is one of these times. For your birth partner, the prospect of not knowing when to help and how to help can be very daunting. Our workshop is designed to ensure that your birth partner is as prepared as can be to support you during labour.
In this workshop you will both learn the physical and emotional support tools used by professional birth partners (doulas).
Baby’s position can have a very big impact on your birth experience. It can be the difference between a straight forward birth and an exhausting, highly medicated birth. Our workshop is designed to teach you how to encourage baby into a good birthing position for labours onset and during labour.
Your support partner will learn techniques to help relieve discomfort caused when baby is not in an optimal position.
Not all births are straight forward and with 9 in 10 women using medical pain relief, 1 in 4 women having inductions and 1 in 3 women having caesareans (NSW statistics), you can assume that at some point in your labour you are likely to be faced with decisions about medical interventions.
This workshop is designed to give you and understanding of the standard procedures and common interventions used in hospital so that when faced with a decision in labour, you have a basic understanding of both the pros and cons and possible flow on effects so you can make the decision right for you at the time.
