This is a testimonial from parents after attending Birth Essentials both before and after their baby was born. Read on to learn how Birth Essentials helped this mother through her emotional and physical birth process
I'd really like to thank you again Anna it was great & it has really given (my husband) some confidence and direction.
We have been practising the massage techniques and I get him to set the room up how he would and give him feedback on what he is doing. Before doing your class (my husband) didn't understand why I was saying that I may not want to talk to him, I might not like what he was doing, I could be snappy & just really want to be left alone. He had no way to cope with that and just said he'd sit there and only do something if I asked, but it was hard for me to say to him I don't want to be asked I just want you to try. I think that you were able to put this forward in a way that he can now understand and he feels like he will be able to make a contribution without upsetting me in the process. I actually think he is looking forward to giving it all a go which is fantastic!
And soon after baby was born.....
I wanted to thank you for letting us come to your workshop. The advice and information you gave us was invaluable and helped me to achieve my goal of a natural drug free birth.
Levi was born on Fathers Day 5/9/10. We did everything you recommended and he was born in a speedy 3.5hrs.
I can't thank you enough.
I was having niggling pains on and off all day but took your advice and had a bath and it pretty much stopped so I went to lie down and all of a sudden my waters broke at 8pm. We stayed in the bathroom lit candles turned the lights of and my husband massaged my back. Our doula came soon after and watched my progress as I sat there quiet just breathing away the pain. I think the best advice you gave me was not to panick and to work out what the pain was for. I kept telling myself he needs to move down that's what is happening and that it would be a long night if I can't give up now cause it will only get more intense. At about 10 our doula called the hospital and when we got there they monitored me for about 15-20 mins before I told them I needed to push.
The midwife didn't believe me cause I was so calm for a first time mum, I had to beg her to check me and when she did she realised I was 9.5cm and ran out saying we need to push in here. It took 25mins in the labour ward before he arrived. I only had a couple of grazes no stitches and I had a natural 3rd stage ad well. He was perfect and scored high on all the tests.
I would gladly recommend your workshops to my friends.
